  • Up to five years of relevant experience in knowledge sharing regarding health and migration.

Desirable:

Education

Essential:

Advanced university degree in behavioural sciences such as psychology, economics, behavioural sciences or social marketing that includes related research methods relevant to the project themes.

Desirable:

A doctoral degree in a related field.

Experience

Essential:

7-10 years of relevant experience in designing and implementing research projects in the fields of behavioural sciences, psychology, economics, social marketing or other related fields.

Experience in applied research and in the use of a variety of research methods in public health.

Proven experience in writing protocols and academic papers related to social science research.

Desirable:

Educational Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Advanced university degree in medicine, public health, epidemiology or global health.

Desirable: 

  • Post-graduate studies or specialized training in health emergency and health systems, applied epidemiology for public health professionals, or public health surveillance.

Experience

Essential:

  • Over 10 years of experience at national and international levels in public health partner coordination, the development and implementation of public health policies and strategies in the context of emergencies.
  • Minimum 5 years’ field experience (readiness, health response, health response support, health response program management, public health needs assessments, risk analysis, resilience, early recovery, quality control).

Desirable:

  • Experience with WHO, UN or UN agency or a health cluster member organization including the development of global strategies, guidelines and tools for health in emergency actions and strengthening of health systems and local capacities.
  • Relevant work experience on country capacity building such as planning and/or partnership web-based platform for health emergencies in WHO, other UN agencies, relevant nongovernmental, health cluster partners or humanitarian organizations.
  • Experience working in clinical setting as a physician or nurse or other allied health worker.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated expertise in writing strategic documents related to the management of public health emergencies.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and proven skills in public health.
  • Effective working relations with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Knowledge of WHO programs and work related to drafting strategic guidance documents and driving a consultative process with various departments and stakeholders.
